Chill out at our weekly barbeque and get a taste of the finest local musicians and performers. This year we’ll be welcoming back some old favourites and introducing new faces to our Tuesday Tunes line up. The events will feature acoustic, afrobeat, DJs, singer-songwriters, jazz, folk, and a few surprises along the way.
26 Jul - Boat to Row
Folk collective Boat to Row showcase nimble guitar melodies that cushion a rich set of boy-girl harmonies, swooning violins and ricocheting drum beats. This year has seen them support the likes of Willy Mason, The Vaccines, Johnny Flynn and Slow Club.
2 Aug - Sherazzi
Sherrazi are an 'Urban new wave' Trio based in Birmingham consisting of three main instruments, Melodic keys. Mesmeric vocals and rhythmric drums. Experimenting with the development of our sound, we aim to transform the moods of listeners in the hope they feel the vibe that we do when making our music.
9 Aug - Down By Law
KhanFu (Adil Khan) & JamFu (Jahmai Jones) are a part of Down By Law, who are one of the hottest breakthrough DJ crews on the Birmingham circuit right now. Tearing it up across the city with their distinctive blend of Hip Hop with the emphasis firmly on the 90s era - as well soul, funk and Bboy Breaks. Their goal is to get your 'heads noddin and neck achin'.
16 Aug - Kristy Gallacher
Kristy Gallacher is a singer/songwriter from Coventry. With a strong live presence of carefully crafted songs and exciting fresh guitar work Kristy continues to grow and expand her loyal fan base. Continually song writing, Kristy regularly performs on the acoustic circuit to sell out audiences across the UK. The title track of Kristy's 2008 debut album 'Emotional Gun' has been selected for the British Library Project which achieves significant new music.
23 Aug - Jon Fletcher
Music with roots and soul that's guaranteed to enlighten, enthrall and entertain. The superbly talented trio of Jon Fletcher (vocals/guitar/bouzouki/mandolin/harmonica), Colin Fletcher (double bass/guitar) and fiddler Jane Griffiths combine folk, jazz and blues influences in a set of original and traditional material.
30 Aug - Mellow Peaches
Purveyors of rootsy stomps and gutsy grooves, the unassuming Peaches have long immersed themselves into traditional, organic and freshly sourced American blues and roots, mixing it up with their own gumbo of exotic flavours to create a wholesome dish that aids digestion
6 Sep - Frutaloka
Our last Tuesday Tunes of the season is rounded off by Frutaloka – a 9-piece collective of talented musicians from different cultural and musical backgrounds. Their style is a unique cocktail of world music with whole bits of latin, funk, soul, reggae and more.
