Talking Birds - We're Only Here Today
Tue 12 & Wed 13 Mar, 8pm, Theatre | Tickets £12 (£10) | Ages 11+
Two men appear at your house. What they want, who they represent, or what they’re selling is unclear, but they seem to know everything about your life, and they know how to get under your skin. Suddenly all those things in your life you've managed to keep safely hidden away are on show; the day of reckoning has arrived now you’ve opened the door. Or perhaps it’s just about double glazing.
This theatrical tour-de-force is performed by David Colvin (Black Watch, National Theatre of Scotland) and Richard Kidd (We Love You City, Talking Birds/Belgrade Theatre). It is written and directed by Talking Birds’ staff writer Nick Walker (BBC Radio 4), with dramaturgical support from Emma Benson (producer of the BAFTA winning ITV series Cold Feet).
Coventry based Talking Birds have been making new work in the region and beyond for over 20 years, often in unusual spaces, but are making a rare return to the theatre with a brand new show, based on the King Lear inspired Pilot night show performed at the RSC’s Courtyard Theatre in 2012.
